Terms of Use & Disclaimer

Last updated: 2026-07-11

Use OHV Trail Finder at your own risk: every route, mileage and season is an informational summary computed from public Forest Service MVUM data — it is not the official Motor Vehicle Use Map, not a legal document, and not a guarantee that a route is open, passable, or legal today. Conditions, closures and designations change. Always carry and follow the district's official MVUM and obey posted signs. Data is provided "as is" without warranty of accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose. Questions: [email protected].

Informational use only — not the official MVUM

OHV Trail Finder is an informational summary of public U.S. Forest Service Motor Vehicle Use Map data. It is not the official Motor Vehicle Use Map, it is not a legal document, and it is not affiliated with the U.S. Forest Service. The controlling document for where you may legally operate a motor vehicle in a national forest is the district's official MVUM, which you must obtain, carry, and follow.

No guarantee a route is open or passable

Route designations, seasons, closures and conditions change, and the data carries a vintage that may lag the ground. A route shown here may be closed, impassable, or re-designated. Nothing on this site is a guarantee that a route is open, legal, safe, or passable today. Always verify with the ranger district and obey posted signs, gates and orders.

Ride responsibly and at your own risk

Off-highway riding carries real risk. You are responsible for riding within your ability and your vehicle's legal class, for your own safety and that of others, for a properly registered and equipped vehicle, and for compliance with all federal, state and local laws. Use of this site and any GPX download is at your own risk.

No warranty

The data is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, this project is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from use of the site or its data.

Data and attribution

The underlying route data is a work of the U.S. Government and is in the public domain. The methodology page documents the source and method.
